My life and Disc Golf:

My life and disc golf: I'm 22 years old and grew up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. My entire life I've been involved with sports and exploring the outdoors. I was an avid runner throughout high school, but had to stop after my senior season due to a fractured ankle and tendinitis in my knee. Obviously, that hasn't stopped me from competing in disc golf. Currently, I am a senior at Iowa State University getting my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Design, and a minor in Advertising.

I only found out about the sport a couple years ago. My friend, who plays disc golf professionally, took me out a few times to tournaments, leagues, and casual rounds. I pretty much became hooked. When I moved back to school in the fall of 2015, I slowly started going out with some of my friends there, and was seeing major progress with what little knowledge I had. For the next year and a half, I grew my bag, learned my new discs, and slowly continued to get better.

Spending the entire 2016 season as a caddy, I fell in love with the tournament scene. I was able to learn so much just by watching how tournaments are run, what happens at tournaments, and learn more about the rules that come with the sport.

2017 was a big year for my disc golf career. It was the first year that I competed in a tournament. Or should I say tournaments, participating in 15 total events, 11 of them sanctioned. 2017 was also the year that I started teaching disc golf to kids at a local park district summer camp. Seeing kids fascinated with the sport and wanting to learn more about it makes me proud of the sport I represent.

I am thankful and proud to be representing The Nati Disc Golf for the 2018 season. My career in the sport is just beginning, and the only way to go from here is up.
