Disc golf for me

I grew up in Ft. Thomas, Ky which is where I now live with my wife and our 2 children. I've always played and excelled at most sports. My first love was golf so it's no surprise that when I was introduced to disc golf by my brother in law, I was immediately hooked.

I started playing casually in Spring 2013 with a yellow dx wolf, throwing it with my index finger on the rim. My best friend Nick was struggling with addiction and I'd often ask him to join me on rounds to help keep him straight. It was a great way to keep his mind focused on something else. Sadly, he passed away that year. I found the camaraderie on the disc golf course much needed after the loss of my best friend. My drive to compete and challenge myself grew and I started playing seriously in 2014.

It started with weekend rounds for fun but I quickly picked up on the technical aspects of the game and learned to challenge myself to get better. I watched every you tube video I could and quickly became obsessed with disc golf! I was the overall points leader in our local Course Challenge Series (CCS) in 2015 playing Intermediate. In 2016 I did the same playing in Advanced. I got the trifecta in 2017 by being the overall points leader playing in the Open/Pro division. I love to get out on the course as much as possible and stay involved in the Disc Golf Community. I've met some really great people and learned a lot from them.

This sport has become a way of life for me. My putting practice in the living room doesn't even phase my wife and kids any more! They enjoy coming out on the course with me and I hope to grow the sport with them as they get older! I look forward to representing the Nati to the best of my ability!
